Nicole Ari Parker has worked on film, television, and on stages. She was best known for her role as Teri (the vigorous attorney) Joseph. Nikki Kodjoe is her new name after she married. Born and raised in Baltimore Maryland. As a child, she displayed an aptitude for acting and was awarded the Best Actress Award at a Maryland High School Competition. Her career in acting started after she joined the Washington Ballet Company as well as theater. The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love was her first big role. Contractor, who was born in Mumbai and lived in Nigeria over seven years experienced a variety of trips and experiences in the world of culture at very young. She attended boarding school at the age of 7 until 9 in London. Later her family returned in Toronto (Canada) in Canada, where she were raised for her entire life. Contractor was an outstanding scholar in Toronto and was trained to be the classical ballet dancer. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts in Toronto, a school of the arts that focuses on dance and theater. Contractor began her acting career at 16 and was a part of the theater for a decade after spending ten years of dancing. As she finished high school and was awarded a full scholarship for tuition to University of Toronto where she pursued theatre studies with a double degrees in Sociology and Psychology. Contractor with a degree in sociology, having spent a year in university and auditioned at an open call for Pericles in the world-renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canadain Canada] and was selected for the role. After the show ran for 92 times, she was rewarded with praise from the audience. The production was recognized as one of the most successful productions by Canadian critics. The conservatory at Stratford accepts eight men with four females, and a handful of other people for a 20 weeks of crash courses. Contractor was offered a slot for the following season and was given the part as Hermia.
